Meet The Band

The Oberlaendler Hofbrau Band is New England's premier Oktoberfest entertainment. Since 1965 the band has been thrilling New England audiences with the authentic sound of the German beer halls. Our twelve fine musicians bring you all the excitement of the Oktoberfest celebration. Singen the German standards along with our vocalist. Tanzen the polka or waltz. We will whisk you away to old Bavaria. The Oberlaendler Hofbrau Band appears in a traditional Bavarian costume: green Alpine hat adorned with a brush and pins, red vest, green tie decorated with edelweiss flowers, black knickers and long white stockings. We not only sound good, we look good! The Oberlaendler Hofbrau Band has a repertoire of over 1700 music titles, so you are assured of hearing a varied and interesting mix of traditional and modern music. In addition to the happy sounds of Germany, we play musical favorites from around the world, including the big band sound of the 'forties and America's own Dixieland (played German style). We always do our best to fill all musical requests.

Audience Appeal

The Oberlaendler Hofbrau Band performances appeal to audiences of all ages. The only thing more important to us than music is entertainment! Audience participation and novelty acts are a popular part of every performance. The Oberlaendler Hofbrau Band provides something for everyone. Play the ten-foot long althorn if you have enough hot air. Join the kids and do the ever popular "chicken dance" as the band dons funny hats. Wave a white handkerchief to the strains of Ole' Ole' Ole'. Ring the Alpine cowbells. Lock arms with your neighbor and schunkel around. the table. March around the room to the exciting sound of the German march. Join our smithy playing the anvil. Watch out for the slippery slide of the roving trombone. Dance the German wedding polka and much, much more. Of course, frequent strains of Ein Prosit will drain the beer keg, just like in Munich. The Oberlaendler Hofbrau Band plans and performs every program with one common objective: everyone has fun, including the band.
