We've
been asked how a powerful dance band like Overdrive also
plays weddings?
Well,
when we're hired for a wedding, we essentially play the
same energetic performance and music that you see in
clubs or concerts - if we changed our
"format", then you obviously wouldn't get the
band you hired. We do dust off and dress up a bit more
of course, and will accommodate as many music tastes
during the "cocktail" set as we can.
Our
own Jim Goodwin meets and confers with the bride and
groom at their convenience. We'll gladly coordinate for
special considerations like: a brass quartet during
the ceremony, the "Bride & Groom, Father
& Daughter, and Mother & Son dances", engaging
a solo pianist for during the "cocktail and hors
d'ouvres hour", and playing custom recorded CD
music during band breaks.
We
provide our Master of Ceremonies, Carl Hynes for any
announcing needs, and for ensuring that your special day
is kept "on schedule".
We
can even supply our own "Justice of the
Peace", band member Scott Mitchell, who has married
literally hundreds of couples throughout New England!
We've
played many fantastic wedding receptions and everyone
has raved about what Overdrive added to their special
day!
